As there weren't enough seats for a sit down lesson, nor had we the time, we decided to sing a few Christmas hymns. We started and finished one, and began another. half way through, "I am catholic," moved to the empty seat and turned to hear us sing. We all smiled and continued. after the third hymn finished, i invited her to choose what we would sing next. "No." she said, "I can't see without my glasses. But Sing! All from God is good." We sang one more and at the end, i asked her name. She told me and I said, "Olga, this is a Christmas gift to you.
There is a picture with Mary and her baby Jesus. On the back is a site [navidad.mormon.org] where you can visit to watch a two minute video." She accepted it. EXCITEDLY. and apologized profusely for not having her glasses. But she told us where she lived and promised she would read the card. she promised. We left with the customary hug and kiss and were on our way. the three of us stunned. "We didn't even sing that great..."
The power of the spirit and something about music carries the love of Christ into our hearts.
I invite you all to watch the video, it is awesome.
I also invite all of you to share the light of Christ with someone this Christmas. Help them remember the He is the Gift.
All my love,
Hermana Meldrum
