This is the greeting here in the DR. Morning afternoon or night, it is just the way to say hey. Also the way to knock on doors. It is awesome! Anyway, this week has gone really well. Things are just... lining up I guess is how to say it. It has been a lot cooler. HOT still, but cooler, I am not sweating as I type. My companion and I are getting along fabulously. Our house is a lot cleaner. And wouldn´t you know it, we are teaching by the spirit.
The events of this week are cool. We were all excited to take the jello we made to the District potluck lunch on Thursday, when they called and said the meeting was moved back an hour an a half, we should do weekly planning. So we sat down. Frustrated that they always change things last minute. We started our planning, and were diligently working when our sink exploded. The pipe uderneath burst and water filled the cabinet and convered the floor with two inches of water. We spent the rest of our planning time cleaning up, frustrated we were missing planning. Then rushed out the door with our jello to go to our lunch. We got to the chapel and noticed it had completely melted on the way. We put it in the church's freezer, just before our District leader told us the potluck was postponed to next week. DUDE! You couldn´t tell us that when you called earlier? Whew. Had the meeting, and came home instead of going out to eat with everyone else cause we had frozen jello, not money. We gave our jelopscicle to other elders, realizing later that we actually needed the pan the it was in. We got to the house and plopped into our chairs. This day had started out real tough.
Then, we realized something. If they hadn't changed the meeting, we would have been out when our sink exploded. Our house would be locked and water would have been running for hours with no one to help it. BLESSING And, if the potluck hadn't been moved, we would have had hard jello- but nothing to eat it with. The Elders we gave it to actually, were out of allowance and super grateful for the jello. All of these frustrations were really blessings in disguise. And THAT was cool to realize.
I hope you all are better at seeing blessings in the moment than we are. Because it turns out that they are everywhere. Heavenly Father loves us. Each of us.
This is the thought for the week: Do everything you can to have the spirit with you and everything will line up. If things aren't lined up, you will still feel a greater capacity to handle them.
Spoken like a true missionary. Speaking of, I can't believe I only have 17 months left. I feel like I just got here! (That's funny by the way. Cause I totally did. haha) I love you!
Until next time,
Buenas!
