This week has ended,
and with it, the transfer! This means that Hermana Erekson goes home. I am
happy for her. Saying goodbye was so surreal. Cause like, I just got here and
goodbye doesn't happen yunno? This also means though that I get a new
trainer. I am happy for her too. Haha. Chiste.
To make sense of the
subject line, here is some mission lingo for you, first area= where you were
born, when you finish the mission you "die" and your first companion
is your parent. So, in these terms, my mom died (hence, orphan) and I am being
adopted. But by whom? We got the call last night- Hermana Hansen will come to
San Pedro! She is also young in the mission so I hear, and super great. I am
excited to meet her.
On Wednesday we had
the sister's conference - all the sisters in the East mission, except the four
in the islands, were there. It was awesome to hear great messages and to feel
the love of all the sisters. We had a presentation on security and personal
safety too. It became an open mic which led to hearing a whole bunch of horror
stories. Naturally high concentration of such input causes one to worry a
little, but I am back to normal now! We also got to hear the testimonies of the
10 exiting sisters. For me this was the best part, because in all I do, I work
with the end in mind.
Hearing what they
have learned and where they are gives me what I am looking and working for.
Aside from that
there isn't much to report. Generally speaking - I am communicating just fine,
I love my people, the members are missionaries too, my investigators are
working for their dates, I am sleeping all through the night, and our house is
home. THE BLESSINGS JUST DON'T STOP. I am grateful for a Heavenly Father who
knows exactly what I need and gives it to me right when He knows is best.
And I am thankful to
all of you for your love and support. I send my love right back!
Hasta la pasta,
Hermana Meldrum
