Me and two of my friends with our calls; Santo Domingo, Frankfurt, and Hong Kong
I was an emotion ocean the day I opened my call. I mean, there is a type of safety in "working on the papers" or "still waiting," because it could be anywhere- imagination rules. But once it actually arrives and you accept- the location on that slip determines what you say, how you prepare, the experience you have and the stories you will tell- FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.
When the time finally came to cut the seal,
I was shaking. I had considered countless possibilities. Having studied Spanish for five years and lived in Mexico, mostly spanish speaking states and countries crossed my mind, but none really stuck or sounded right. I had no idea what to expect when I pulled the paper, but my eyes landed on the words front and center before I had a chance to think any more. And when I read it; I felt it. I know not every person's experience is the same, so I am particularly grateful that from the very first second I was assured; this call was inspired, personal, and mine. Assigned to labor in the Dominican Republic Santo Domingo East mission and SO HAPPY.
